Summary of Job: 

The Associate Test Engineer will join the Global Engineering team to perform structured testing that ensures the performance, reliability, and quality of products and processes across Asurion’s production operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Test Engineering, this role is responsible for conducting test processes, documenting results, supporting product and process validation, applying data analytics, solving problems, and maintaining product line continuity.

The Associate Test Engineer will work hands-on with test equipment, software platforms, automation processes, and warehouse management systems. Responsibilities include understanding and supporting API integrations, performing UAT testing, and collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. The role requires strong communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to leadership. By analyzing test data, validating new solutions, and driving improvements to testing methodologies, this position plays a critical role in maintaining production line efficiency, reliability, and continuity.

While the primary focus of this role is on testing and validation, the Associate Test Engineer is expected to remain adaptable and support evolving business priorities, contributing to the overall success of Asurion’s engineering and operations teams.

This is a full-time, on-site employment position.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Execute test processes on products, systems, and processes across the production line.
  • Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately for engineering and operations teams.
  • Support validation of products, processes, and systems through structured testing and analysis.
  • Perform data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Support UAT new tools, systems, and processes to ensure readiness before deployment.
  • Work with third-party software platforms to support testing and integration into production workflows.
  • Develop and execute tests for automation processes that enhance production efficiency.
  • Support and maintain API integrations with warehouse management systems and related platforms.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to verify compliance with Asurion’s testing standards.
  • Ensure product line continuity by proactively identifying risks or test gaps that could impact operations.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment, software tools, and automated testing systems, ensuring availability and calibration.
  • Present test findings, insights, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to test methodologies, workflows, and documentation.

Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Foundational knowledge of test engineering principles in products, systems, or processes.
  • Hands-on ability to operate and maintain test equipment and software tools.
  • Basic familiarity with automation processes, scripting, or coding (e.g., Python, C, or similar).
  • Understanding of and ability to support API integrations with warehouse management and third-party software platforms.
  • Ability to support and participate in UAT testing for new tools, systems, or processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply data analytics to interpret test results and provide actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience collaborating with vendors and external partners to support testing and integration efforts.
  • Strong organizational skills for documenting results, procedures, and maintaining continuity across product lines.

Education and Experience Guidelines: 

  • 2-year technical or associate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information systems, process technology, or a related technical field; OR
  • 4–5 years of practical experience in testing, troubleshooting, and validating products, systems, or processes within a production or technical environment.
