As a strategic business partner, the Director of IT Applications leads the design, development, and deployment of strategic technology solutions that enhance operational performance and drive continuous improvement across the enterprise. This role oversees both custom-developed applications and enterprise-wide platforms, with direct responsibility for the implementation, optimization, and support of SAP S/4HANA—including system configuration, workflow design, and integration of business processes. Key areas of accountability include supporting critical operational and business systems that support functions such as poultry flock management, hatchery operations, customer bookings, animal health, lab services, production planning, and core enterprise functions like finance, sales and distribution, and procurement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute global Information Systems (IS) strategies, solutions, and architectures that align with enterprise goals and enable business growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Application Portfolio Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of technology applications, including both custom-built and enterprise platforms, with an emphasis on SAP S/4 HANA (modules such as FI, SD, MM, PP, and PS).

  • Technology Implementation: Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performing applications that enhance operational efficiency and support continuous improvement across the global enterprise.
  • Innovation Enablement: Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and digital capabilities that drive transformation and competitive advantage.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure application solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve application performance, user experience, and business impact through data-driven insights and proactive problem-solving.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Requirements:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering) or a related field is required. Ideal candidates should have academic or professional experience in technology and/or end-to-end value chain domains—which encompass the full lifecycle of business operations involved in delivering products or services. These domains include interconnected functions such as finance, sales, marketing, procurement, logistics, live production, animal health, lab services, and production planning, all of which contribute to operational efficiency and business value.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience across diverse business environments and functional areas, including Information Systems (IS), with demonstrated engagement across all levels of management. Preferred candidates will have hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, including migration planning and execution. Exposure to international SAP environments, system configuration, and cross-functional integration is highly desirable.

Required Skills: Proven experience in managing enterprise applications, with deep expertise in SAP platforms and modules. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex, high-impact technology initiatives. Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategic business needs into actionable technology solutions. Experience in application governance, vendor management, and budget oversight is essential. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, combined with a proactive, collaborative approach.
