Job Summary and Responsibilities:

This job is responsible for acquiring, manipulating and transforming data into timely, accurate, consistent reports/dashboards and related materials that facilitate information-based decision-making and support system-wide performance improvement plans and quality measures.  An incumbent supports development of best practices to meet American College of Surgery Committee of Trauma (ACS-COT) Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) standards and WA State DOH Trauma Standards.  Work involves using predictive analysis of value-based care requirements to support teams that operationally lead innovation, process improvement excellence and change delivery. Incumbent maintains multiple quality-related databases and associated decision support tools by extracting/validating complex elements from patient electronic medical records data and other internal/external data sources related to organizational and national quality measures to support Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) management in performance improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.  Work is accomplished by gaining familiarity with systems, platforms and databases in use throughout VMFH and sophisticated data manipulation/analysis methodologies in order to produce results formatted to best deliver the intended message.  

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field and three years of directly related work experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. 
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
