About this Position
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors is seeking a Licensing Analyst to play a role in administering and managing licensure for contractors across multiple classifications in accordance with Louisiana state laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administrative, analytical, investigative, and customer service work tasks with a strong emphasis on public interaction, regulatory interpretation, and document verification. The Licensing Analyst will review applications, verify credentials, interpret statutes and regulations, guide applicants and licensees through the licensing process, and ensure ongoing compliance for active licensees.

Our Licensing Analysts play a crucial role in protecting the public and ensuring that qualified contractors are properly licensed to work in the state. This role offers diverse responsibilities that go beyond typical administrative work. Position Duties
Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Other Qualifications
Interpret and explain state statutes, rules, and licensing requirements to contractors, applicants, and the public. Review and process contractor license applications for residential and commercial classifications. Analyze financial statements, legal documents, and insurance records to determine applicant eligibility. Maintain and update licensee records, including changes in classifications, ownership, or qualifying parties. Monitor license compliance and assist in issuing initial licenses as well as license renewals. Collaborate with other agency divisions and public agencies (when necessary)
