Atlas Teaching Fellows are new to education and desire intentional learning, observation, and practice that will allow them to excel within their own Atlas classroom after their first year as a Fellow.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage with dedication in Atlas' Teaching Fellow program
  • Teach under the guidance of exemplary teachers and instructional coaches
  • Effectively receive, retain, and apply feedback and guidance given from various coaching parties
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Help to guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the assigned lesson plan(s)
  • Develop meaningful relationships with students and make a tangible impact on the minds' and lives' of students
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
  • Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom
  • Be knowledgeable in the procedures for referring students with disciplinary problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Compensation & Schedule 

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Annual Salary: $36,750*
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Qualifications


Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
  • Possess a sincere desire to become a full-time teacher with Atlas 
  • Be willing to obtain necessary in-field endorsement after fellowship has concluded
  • Possess a growth mindset that values feedback and is able to successfully implement such information
  • Be 100% committed to the Atlas mission and educational equity
  • Demonstrated maturity, humility, self-reflection, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures


Desired Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Education) or in active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree
  • Prior teaching experience with low-income communities 


Essential Job Functions

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
  • Must be able to fulfill all aspects of this job description with or without reasonable accommodation
