- This position is in the Pay Grade 3 / 187 days / minimum starting salary $17.15 (see attached )
Primary Purpose:
Assist students' preparation and management of distance learning activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of campus administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification: - Minimum of 48 college hours required
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate (the District will assist the employee in obtaining this certificate and will cover the cost associated with this)
Special Knowldge/Skills: - Ability to work well with students
- Excellent communication skills/rapport of college professors
- Ability to communication effectively
- Technology skills/ability to trouble shoot requirement
Experience: - Experience working with students and technology background
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
1. Assist college professors in preparing instructional materials, adjusting class scheduling, implementing student accommodations, and attending dual credit informational meetings.
2. Timely notify necessary staff and college teachers regarding enrollment and notice of student withdrawals.
3. Assist students and parents with application processes, registration requirements, and online registration.
4. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
5. Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the professors; work with individual students or small groups.
6. Help professors keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
Student Management
1. Help supervise students throughout school daily, inside and outside distance learning lab.
2. Keep professors and parents informed of special needs or problems of individual students and of student progress. If necessary, refer to counselors in a timely manner.
