Senior Manager, Planning
Dentsu is looking for a Senior Manager of Integrated Media Planning with solid integrated media expertise to help maintain and grow one of our large integrated media businesses. You should have some experience in both traditional and offline media (TV, Radio, Print, OOH), this role will also focus on all things digital – social, digital, programmatic and search. In addition to media experience, it is important for the right candidate to have experience with onboarding first party audiences and working with Clients and Activation Teams to develop strategic media recommendation based on these audiences.
You will be a key member of the team and a point person to our clients. This role will be very hands-on and involved in the day-to-day of this account.
As a Senior Manager of Media Planning, you are responsible for ensuring that communication strategies are effectively converted into plans as well as leading the development and implementation of those plans. In partnership with the senior leadership, you will help in setting the strategic tone for the account/within your assigned division. You are expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media landscape (including digital).
Managing client relationships is also a key component of this role. You will be managing an associate. There is an onsite requirement of one day a week in our Detroit Office and in 2026 this in-office requirement will shift to three days in-office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for media plan output timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellence
- Fluent in budget actualizations, R/F analysis, audience planning, KPI analysis, and biddable/performance media
- Participate and help lead the strategic media planning/execution and serve as a resource for direct reports & junior staff for advice and counsel
- Demonstrate ability to utilize resources (syndicated, proprietary, analyst data) to help guide client’s marketing goals and apply to strategic recommendations
- Work closely with activation department leads to outline appropriate processes and timelines to ensure flawless execution
- Understand development and implementation for first party data-led paid search, paid social and programmatic media plans, including ongoing test and learns, reporting and closed loop measurement
- Provides relevant insight and input into existing and emerging media opportunities (through awareness of available media services vendors)
- Build & maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at appropriate levels
- Accurately represent the client’s point of view when developing/reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
- Capable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structure
- Provide and discuss industry information on media, markets and related dynamics
- Train, motivate and develop media planning group
- Construct and deliver accurate, honest and timely performance management documents
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of integrated media planning experience at a large agency setting – automotive experience is not required but preferred
- Experience in full funnel media planning across all channels mainly focusing on – OLV, CTV/Streaming, Streaming Audio, Paid Search, Programmatic Digital and Paid Social is required
- Proven leadership skills and management experience
- Working knowledge of Lumina, DDS, and Tableau

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
