Position Overview

The Assistant Principal / Lead Teacher plays a dual role as both an instructional leader and classroom teacher. This position supports the overall academic vision and day-to-day operations of the school while teaching a designated grade level class. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, instructional expertise, and a passion for mentoring teachers to cultivate a culture of academic excellence and spiritual growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional & Classroom Duties
    • Teach one designated grade level and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction.
    • Create and implement lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and faith-based values.
    • Assess student progress and provide differentiated support to ensure individual success.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behavior.
  • Leadership & Mentorship
    • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to teaching staff to promote instructional improvement.
    • Model effective classroom management, student engagement, and data-driven instruction.
    • Assist in new teacher onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.
    • Foster collaboration among staff through planning meetings and shared initiatives.
  • Administrative & School Operations
    • Support the Principal/Executive Director in executing the school’s academic and behavioral programs.
    • Monitor compliance with school policies, procedures, and state requirements.
    • Participate in student discipline, conflict resolution, and parent conferences as needed.
    • Assist with scheduling, school events, testing coordination, and reporting.
    • Promote and uphold the school’s mission, vision, and core values in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification).
  • Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience; prior leadership or mentor experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and develop teachers and students.
  • Commitment to faith-based education and character development.
