Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Chief Engineer Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead with a technical background in RF hardware test and troubleshooting and some form of leadership experience. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility.
- Interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
- Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
- Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
- The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) with 8 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 6 years industry experience (with a BS in STEM)
- Active Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and obtain a SAP clearance for continued employment.
- 1.5-years minimum background in RF hardware integration, testing and/or troubleshooting
- General knowledge of BWI manufacturing and test cells
- 6-months minimum experience in team (or project) leadership in one of the following areas: IPT Lead, deputy IPT Lead, test, hardware or technical, integration and test, test design, RF hardware testing and troubleshooting, or manufacturing / operations support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the BWI T2 test cell
- Experience working with cross functional teams to drive test and production improvements
- Experience with REX (receiver/exciter) hardware Integration and test
- Experience reporting project status to program, functional management or customers
- Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Experience driving recovery through development and execution of return to green plans
- Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
- PMP certification a plus
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus
