SUMMARY: Designs and develops fluid power and mechatronic solutions for mobile and industrial markets: plans, organizes, oversees, integrates, and completes engineered projects within the area of assigned responsibility, applying principles of advanced fluid power and electronic control systems. Ensures quality control and compliance with regulatory agencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with outside sales and directly with customers to specify, design, prototype, test and document fluid power and mechatronic solutions.
• Develops product performance testing; incorporates required design changes to address problem resolution.
• Organizes, plans, tracks, and resolves design problems associated with product or system performance in engineering, manufacturing, and the field.
• Interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure design specifications meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards and comply with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements.
• Keeps abreast of developments in products and technologies related to the fluid power industry, achieving a solid understanding of their applications.
• Provides sales and production support as needed.
• Prepares interim and completion project reports.
• Develops and maintains project documentation.
• Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
• Handles material review board responsibilities as needed.
• Interacts and collaborates effectively with internal and external team members to ensure needs of the company are met.
• Interfaces with outside vendors as required.
• Upholds Hydraulic Controls quality procedures and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering degree (B.S.E.) or equivalent in related field.
• Four to six years’ design and project management experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Professionalism in interactions with people of all levels, internal and external.
