ECS is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to work in our Newington, VA office.
ECS was awarded a new 5-year contract supporting the FBI’s Operational Technology Division (OTD) Research & Development Support program.
This initiative supports a portfolio of research and development efforts while managing the IT infrastructure that enables them—specifically across IT Support, IT Security, IT Services, and Administrative Compliance. The program addresses complex technical and investigative challenges faced by the United States and Five Eyes (FVEY) law enforcement and intelligence community (IC) agencies. These challenges stem from rapid advances in global communications, computer networks, cellular systems, and the Internet.
ECS applies rapid research and development methods in a collaborative environment to create innovative solutions to operational problems in areas such as device exploitation and application analysis.
The Automation Test Engineer will support an agile software integration team in analyzing, designing, building, testing, and maintaining high-quality products. This role involves reviewing customer requirements, designing test plans, writing test cases, overseeing test strategies, and coordinating testing activities for assigned systems. The Test Engineer will verify and document defects, assist in debugging and modifications, analyze test results to validate functionality and integration, and recommend corrective actions upon failures. Testing will include functional, non-functional, integration, and regression testing.
Success in this position requires the ability to develop clear and comprehensive test cases, maintain effective communication, and collaborate seamlessly with both development and customer stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support an agile software integration team in analyzing, designing, building, testing, and supporting high-quality products.
- Review requirements, design test plans, write test cases, and oversee test strategies.
- Perform and coordinate functional, non-functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Detect, document, and track defects; assist in debugging and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and report test results to ensure quality assurance and compliance.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure requirements are validated and deliverables meet operational standards.
