Goucher College seeks an educator and filmmaker to teach media production as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Media Arts in the Digital Arts program. This full-time appointment will begin in August 2026 with a teaching load of 5 courses per year. The candidate will have completed an MFA in film, video production, or digital arts. Candidates with a PhD in media studies, film studies, or communication may also be considered. Core experience in film and video production in narrative, documentary, and/or hybrid media forms is required. Experience in photography, journalism, audio production, emerging media, or the use of digital technologies in other artistic practices is valued but not required. Experience teaching theory, history, and analysis of media will also be considered advantageous, but is not required. Our pedagogy emphasizes the training of students as producers, directors, writers, and editors, while also equipping them with the technical skills needed across media production practices.
