Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy regulatory counsel to provide specialized legal counsel regarding pharmacy related matters. Counsel will be a member of the Albertsons Companies Pharmacy & Health Law Team and will support a variety of complex pharmacy and health issues to furthers Albertsons’ strategic initiatives. The position will report to the Senior Counsel of Pharmacy Operations Law and will serve as counsel to the Pharmacy and Health business teams.  This role will have a principal focus on advising internal business partners on health care regulatory, compliance, and marketing issues. This role will be based in Boise, Idaho or Pleasanton, California.

Main responsibilities:

  • Research and advise clients on pharmacy regulatory matters and assist with compliance under state and federal health care laws.
  • Coordinate efforts with internal clients as well as internal and external attorneys to provide legal advice regarding complex issues on a broad range of pharmacy and health topics.
  • Work with supervising attorney to continue to improve upon policies and procedures. 
  • Collaborate with legal and business teams across multiple time zones.
  • Work with an innovative and fast-growing business segment to find creative solutions to meet business objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating business and legal risk. 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel.
  • At least five (5) years’ legal experience in health care regulatory law; experience in pharmacy law preferred. 
  • Perform factual and legal research, analysis, guidance, and legal correspondence.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex health care regulatory issues and evaluate their broader implications for the business; interact with clients on all levels; provide timely, practical, legal advice and solutions; and communicate effectively in person and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take ownership of issues and matters to their successful conclusion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at high levels.
  • Exemplary leadership, time management, advocacy, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage many projects simultaneously.

The salary range is $136,000 to $201,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
