Director of Education and Research
Foot Levelers, Inc.
Summary: This position is responsible for building solid, long-term relations with the chiropractic colleges and speaks throughout North America and Canada. He/she should be confident in building relationships with professional peers and have a strong ability to collaborate within a team environment. This position would be responsible for traveling to and following up on opportunities at chiropractic colleges approximately 2 times per month and increasing Foot Levelers’ presence in the clinic and classroom environments.
Vision: The vision of the college program is to give students a very strong foundation on the benefits of wearing and prescribing orthotics during their college education, so that they have knowledge and experience relative to prescribing orthotics to their patients upon graduating.
Business Focus: He/she will be expected to visit the top 12 Chiropractic Colleges at least 2 times per year. Each visit should be prearranged with a full agenda and pre-identified goals to impact the metrics identified below. Each contact should be logged as they are created so the visits can be followed up on via ongoing phone contact. This person would work to contact each of the liaisons at least once per month to implement the current marketing initiatives. This person is responsible for training new students as well as existing students on the proper use of the FLI kiosk and most importantly on the personal and patient use of Stabilizing Orthotics.
Short Term Goals: This position is integral in helping Foot Levelers nurture our orthotic programs within the colleges, educating students, college faculty, clinic staff, college liaisons, and help promote FL in the clinics and classroom environments. He/she will also need to identify how Foot Levelers can better support the colleges to reinforce orthotic programs. This person should determine opportunities to be more engaged with the colleges via regular communication with the college liaisons.
Long Term Goals: This person will need to develop a research agenda and visit with researchers on specific campuses who may want to collaborate with FL on future research projects, or those we are already engaged with. He/she should also review our current educational program and bring forth new ideas to develop additional material around the efficacy of our products, our protocols for scanning new patients, and how we teach this content to students in a way so that it can complement a college curriculum.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
College Relationships:
- Responsible for building solid, long-term relations with the Chiropractic Colleges throughout North America, Canada and abroad; make college visits at least 2 times per month
- Maintain contact with Deans of Clinic, Clinic Directors, Clinic Staff Doctors, and Student liaisons
- Maintain and grow the Foot Levelers (FL) Liaison program; hold accountable for agreed upon deliverables
- Provide FL training to individual College Liaisons
- Coordinate education communication with college liaisons on monthly calls with agendas to reinforce goals
- Work in tandem with colleges and FL staff to determine what marketing collateral is needed to better promote FL on campus
- Assist College Liaisons with in-service training to clinic staff doctors and student interns
- Develop the educational mission statement that serves as the basis to implement changes in learner competence, performance, and/or patient outcomes
- Develop FL training sessions in key undergraduate classes – biomechanics, technique, etc.
- Assist with developing FL clubs and/or involvement with established clubs and working with student ambassadors
Business Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between Foot Levelers and chiropractic college students, interns, clinicians, and staff.
- Participate and coordinate Research agenda and projects on behalf of Foot Levelers
- Write FL related articles suitable for publication (approx. 1 per quarter)
- Develop meaningful relationships with clinicians, clinic directors, academic dean, president, etc.
- Present programs on such topics as Biomechanics, Rehabilitation, Sports Injury and Extremity Adjusting to chiropractic audiences at college homecomings and FL-sponsored events.
- Organize and coordinate peer review studies. Ensure results are published in appropriate chiropractic publications and journals.
Requirements
- Education: Doctor of Chiropractic (preferred)
- Post-secondary education is preferred.
- Advanced Degrees, DABCO, DABCN, CCSP, preferred but not required.
- Previous public speaking experience
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships
- Experience managing others without direct authority
- Previous sales experience preferred

- Previous business development experience, preferred.
- Frequent overnight and weekend travel is required.
