The role you will contribute:
The Design Center Manager (DCM) is responsible for leading a team of innovation catalysts to ensure effective facilitation of innovation labs and identification of solutions. This position ensures the team continuously learns and tests new techniques to enhance the Design Center's effectiveness. Additionally, this role utilizes a human-centered, design-based approach in coordinating all innovation labs. In addition, this position participates in and leads design thinking and innovation-focused educational events to foster a culture of innovation. This role collaborates closely with other team members to ensure the success of the innovation strategy.

Participates in the development of guiding principles, internal philosophy on innovation, and strategies for the design center.
Provides management and professional facilitation for the design of innovation labs.
Provides inspiring leadership to innovation catalysts, cultivating a learning, creative, and highly productive work environment.
Participates in formal and informal presentations across the company on design thinking and innovation topics.
Provides data and reports on innovation labs to leadership to research the effectiveness of projects.
Ensures solutions are co-created within parameters established by the Executive Director of Strategic Design.
Works closely with leadership to ensure an inspiring, open, and productive environment for executives and teams participating in labs, events, and tours at the Design Center.
Collaborates with consumer intel, market research, marketing, user experience, and other internal teams to ensure the voice of the customer influences solutions.
Collaborates with strategic alliance and information technology teams to ensure their incorporation into the co-creation process.
Leads and participates in special projects related to innovation and design.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in design thinking and innovation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
3+ years experience immersive, human-centered design in a professional setting
Skilled at leading innovation/design thinking teams
Exceptional facilitation skills
Creative, strategic approach to problem resolution; Adaptable to current research in innovation and creative tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve desired results
Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations; self-motivated and resourceful
Analytical, creative, and strong interpersonal skills
Skilled in designing highly effective innovation labs
Knowledge of design thinking/human centered design
Demonstrated ability to meet/exceed deadlines
General business knowledge
Dynamic presenter and educator in design thinking and innovation
Knowledge of Theory U (work by C. Otto Scharmer)
Knowledge of healthcare administration
Skilled researcher in design thinking and/or innovation
Design Project Portfolio demonstrating robust design thinking methodology including visual story-boarding expertise, robust design research methodology, and development of high-fidelity prototypes
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Preferred
Master's degree Preferred
Knowledge of Theory U (work by C. Otto Scharmer)
Knowledge of healthcare administration
Skilled researcher in design thinking and/or innovation
