Lebanon Valley College invites nominations and applications for the position of Founding Chair in the developing Master of Occupational Therapy Program (MSOT). This is a full-time, 12-month faculty appointment with administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will provide dynamic, entrepreneurial leadership in developing, launching, and securing accreditation for this innovative, hybrid-delivery graduate program. The founding chair will be responsible for all aspects of program development, including curriculum design, accreditation application, faculty recruitment, space planning, and establishing clinical partnerships. The MSOT program will utilize a hybrid model, combining online learning with intensive on-campus lab experiences. The chair position is fully on campus / in person.
The newly developing program will join the other existing health science programs including Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Nursing, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Exercise Science, and Athletic Training. The MSOT program will utilize lab space in the 60,000 sq ft Arnold Health Professions Pavilion which includes flexible classroom space with technologies that enhance teaching, a full equipped human performance lab, and a ten-table gross anatomy lab. Adjacent space in our newly built Nursing building also includes simulation labs and a home health set-up.
The ideal candidate will have an academic terminal degree (PhD, EdD, ScD) and have current NBCOT certification and eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of experience as an OT, including three years of full-time academic experience at the post-baccalaureate level. Candidates must have experience in administration, curriculum development, and ACOTE accreditation processes. Candidates also must have experience with hybrid or online educational delivery models. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
