WFS Landside Transport is recruiting a dedicated and reliable Valeter to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of a fleet of trucks and trailers, ensuring they are in optimal condition. You will be expected to perform efficient and high-quality truck washing, detailing, and fleet cleaning tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Your main responsibilities on a day to day basis will be:-
- Perform truck washing and cleaning tasks using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions, ensuring the fleet is thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections of trucks to identify areas requiring additional cleaning or repairs and report accordingly.
- Use the company's app to ensure all reporting requirements are met.
- Utilise pressure washers, brushes, and other cleaning tools to remove dirt, grime, and debris from truck exteriors, interiors, and undercarriages.
- Clean and sanitise truck cabs, including windows, mirrors, dashboards, and seating areas.
- Empty and clean trailer beds, removing any waste or foreign objects.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Management team promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, requesting restocking when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Follow company policies and procedures, provide excellent customer service and address any inquiries or concerns from truck drivers or other personnel.
To be successful in this role you will need:-
- Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a truck washing or vehicle cleaning environment.
- Knowledge of truck washing techniques, equipment, and cleaning agents.
- Ability to operate pressure washers, steam cleaners, and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions as the job is based outside.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and interact with truck drivers or other staff.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime if required.
