TITLE OF VACANCY:  Elementary Teacher – Art    (Travel)  - Rest of the Year Only

LOCATION:  Addams & Wilcox Elementary Schools

CONTRACT PERIOD:  180 days

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with elementary art endorsement
2. Experience in Art instruction preferred
3. Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide developmentally appropriate and diverse instruction in Art education
2. Establish and implement appropriate procedures for assessing student learning
3. Plan age-appropriate Art events and/or special projects to help maintain students’ interest in Art
4. Work with teaching staff to correlate Art instruction with other subjects and to address the school-wide focus areas
5. Actively participate in appropriate professional development activities for staff
6. Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives
7. Maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning
8. Communicate effectively with students, parents, the public, and staff
9. Perform other duties as assigned
