Summary:
Responsible for Quality Assurance activities of the Dubuque factory and foundry, including supervision and scheduling of the Quality Assurance Technicians, facilitating quality related investigations and corrective actions, documentation of plant procedures and work instructions and maintaining Quality Department equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Technicians, including scheduling, assignments, and performance reviews
- Investigate quality related issues using 5 WHY, Cause and Effect, FMEA and other tools to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Quality related issues and decisions for the Dubuque factory and foundry, including the disposition of DMRs, RMAs and supplier related issues
- Daily production checks, inspections, and quality issues
- Develop, operate, and train personnel on department related software and equipment
- Maintenance and operation of CMM, XRF scanner, Contractor, and other measuring equipment
- Maintenance and implementation of all QA related software
- Problem solving within the department, facility and company
- Internal audits, including review of audits and recommend actions
- Reduction in waste using data analysis from Power BI, Epicor and SPC related tools
- Identifying the need for and developing work instructions
- Coordinate quality related training as needed by plant personnel
- Implementation of new product including sample approval
- Material analysis using OES, AA, and X-ray Spectrometers (as applicable)
- Research and recommend equipment processes for the department.
- Third-party audits and visits including U.L. and CSA.
- Troubleshooting and calibration of electronic testers
- Development and updates of inspection plans and SPC setup
- Training coworkers on the use of SPC software
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and three to five years’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
