Working hours
The Manager, Cabling and Infrastructure typically works Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. On occasion you may be asked to work outside of business hours.
Location requirements
NYC Based, predominantly Brooklyn and Manhattan, this is 100% onsite and there is no ability to work remote.
Travel
This position requires 100% daily travel to client sites in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan
Who You Are
Proactive and independent technical expert with a focus on leading our cabling and infrastructure team. You oversee the planning, execution, and quality control of our low voltage & network cabling and installation projects for our clients. You will be responsible for leading a team of cabling technicians and installers, ensuring quality control, compliance with industry standards, and client specifications. You are a skilled communicator on all levels and dedicated to providing top-notch customer service. Your meticulous attention to detail is shown through your timekeeping, documentation, and execution of the technical work.
You know how to:
- Coordinate and supervise low voltage & network cabling and installation projects for our clients, including site survey and design, project scheduling, project installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance, to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure quality control, adherence to industry standards, client specifications, safety regulations, and best practices for network cabling and installation of related systems.
- Report on the progress and issues related to the project quality, cost, and timeline.
- Collaborate with other teams, clients, and vendors to troubleshoot and optimize the performance of wired and wireless infrastructure and related systems.
- Maintain and update documentation, records, and inventory.
- Interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams as they relate to scope of deliverables.
- Lead the cabling and installation team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Position will require skills in some or all the following technologies:
- Structured Low Voltage Cabling including Cat5e/6, Coax, Alarm, Speaker, Access Control, Automation, etc. Patch Panels, Racks, Cable Management Systems and Related.
- Systems including A/V, Televisions, Displays, Signage, Video Conferencing, Network Switches, Wi-Fi Access Points, Surveillance Cameras, Access Control, Alarm Systems, Music Systems, Motorized Shades and Lighting Control.
The following certifications are desirable:
- OSHA 40 or the ability to obtain it is required
- Valid New York state driver’s license is required
- SST Card (Supervisor) is preferred.
Pay and Benefits
This is a full-time position located in NYC, United States and performed onsite at client locations as well as NexusTek’s NYC office.
Estimated Starting Salary/Wage Range: $75,000 - $95,000 annually, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis (The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure [for existing employees] skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role. Note that the majority of individuals in the position will fall in the low to mid-level of this scale; the upper end of this pay scale is offered only in exceptional circumstances and/or for unusually qualified candidates.)
