POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs a variety of activities in planning, procurement coordination, negotiation, and follow-up to support the planning process and manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES Planning & Sourcing

Manage the planning process in Oracle ERP, ensuring timely and cost-effective availability of materials.

Work with suppliers to align planning requirements, negotiate lead times, and maintain quality and delivery commitments.

Ensure supplier compliance with company policies and contractual terms.

Partner with suppliers to address lead times, capacity, and performance issues.

Purchase Order (PO) Management

Create, review, and approve Purchase Orders (POs) in Oracle while ensuring alignment with demand planning and budget constraints.

Monitor open POs and expedite orders to meet production schedules.

Address PO exceptions and discrepancies, including price mismatches and delivery delays.

Ensure adherence to company planning and Oracle purchasing guidelines.

Work Order Number (WON) Management

Create, review, and release Work Orders (WONs) in Oracle to align with the production schedule.

Monitor WON progress and ensure timely issuance of materials to the shop floor.

Address WON exceptions, such as shortages, delays, or incorrect allocations.

Ensure WONs are properly closed in Oracle to maintain system integrity and accurate reporting.

Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment between WONs, schedules, and material availability.

Inventory & Demand Planning

Work closely with planning and materials teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Use Oracle MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to align planning with production schedules.

Address supply shortages and adjust planning strategies to mitigate risks.

Minimize excess and obsolete inventory by analyzing demand trends.

Supplier Management & Performance Monitoring

Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Track supplier performance KPIs (on-time delivery, quality, cost savings, lead times) using Oracle Supplier Management tools.

Address and resolve non-conformance issues, coordinating with Quality and Operations teams.

Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with company standards.

Cost Control & Budget Management

Drive cost reduction initiatives through improved planning, alternate sourcing, and optimized lot sizing.

Monitor spend and analyze cost variances in Oracle ERP.

Ensure alignment with corporate cost-saving strategies and budget goals.

System & Process Optimization

Utilize Oracle ERP functionalities to streamline planning operations and improve efficiency.

Support system enhancements, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure data integrity in Oracle, including lead times, demand accuracy, and part descriptions.

Collaborate with IT and finance teams for ERP upgrades and troubleshooting.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure all planning activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and internal controls.

Generate and analyze Oracle planning and procurement reports for decision-making.

Prepare reports for management review, highlighting risks and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Inventory reduction experience.

Cost variance and demand planning experience.

Supplier management and development.

Strong computer skills (Excel required).

APICS coursework preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
