Job Description:

The Department of Nursing is undergoing a process of growth and renewal and would like to attract new faculty that will share and contribute to this process through teaching, research and guidance in the area of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. They will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions for the good of the institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Nursing faculty teaches in the classroom and conducts clinical teaching.
  • Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development, participating in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.
  • Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Doctorate in Nursing, or other related areas, required.
  • Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
  • Must have expertise in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
  • A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.
  • Expertise in primary care throughout the lifespan is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level.
  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.
  • Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.
