Position Description

Major/Essential Functions
- Provide personalized guidance to students through one-on-one counseling sessions to assess their interests, values, skills, and goals.
- Assist students in exploring a wide range of majors and academic programs, taking into consideration their interests, strengths, academic performance, and career aspirations. Serve as a primary contact to assist students through the major change process.
- Connect students with relevant resources, such as academic advisors, faculty members, career development workshops, internships, and experiential learning opportunities, to support their exploration and decision-making process.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to students as they navigate their academic journeys, helping them overcome challenges and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes, and use data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions and identify areas of improvement.
- Stay current on trends and best practices in career development, major discernment, higher education, and labor market dynamics, and actively participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent online and telephone public relations and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
- Possess the knowledge of procedures required to maintain confidential files along with the ability to prepare materials for various entities.
- Punctual, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Expected to follow instructions, and perform duties with accuracy and in a timely manner.
