We are seeking a Progressice Care Unit CNA, also referred to PCU Certified Nursing Assistant. This role involves providing direct patient care to individuals who require closer monitoring than on a regular med-surg floor but are not critical enough for the ICU.
Shift’s Available: Days
Employment Type: Per Diem/ PRN
Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pm
Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Take and record frequent vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, and feeding support
- Turn, reposition, and assist patients with mobility and safe transfers using proper techniques and equipment
- Monitor and document intake and output while observing for and reporting any changes in patient condition
- Support nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients requiring close observation in a step-down unit
Education and Work Experience
1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
2. Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
4. Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
