Part Time 20 hours per week

Are you passionate about compassionate care at the end of life? Do you thrive in mission-driven environments where innovation and empathy go hand in hand? We’re seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead and grow our newly established Death Doula Program, a new initiative that supports individuals and families during life’s most profound transitions.

About the Role

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of a transformative program that integrates trained Death Doula volunteers into hospice and palliative care settings. You’ll oversee recruitment, training, and support of volunteers, while collaborating with clinical teams to ensure the program aligns with our values of dignity, presence, and holistic care.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new program from the ground up—developing training, defining scope, and building community awareness. You’ll also contribute to broader volunteer services, supporting a team of dedicated individuals who make a meaningful difference every day.

 What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and daily operations of the Death Doula Program.
  • Recruit, onboard, and supervise volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared and supported.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define program goals and best practices.
  • Promote the program through outreach and education in the community.
  • Maintain accurate records and evaluate program impact.
  • Support broader volunteer initiatives including training, recognition, and scheduling.

 What You Bring

  • Death Doula certification and at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, education, human services, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of program coordination or office management experience, ideally in healthcare or nonprofit settings.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Passion for end-of-life care and community engagement.

 Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a compassionate, collaborative team committed to enhancing the lives of patients and families. This role offers the chance to innovate, lead, and make a lasting impact in a supportive and mission-driven organization.
