Under the direction of assigned supervisor, performs a variety of complex and responsible
clerical, record keeping, profiling and reporting, and other support duties following established policies, procedures and mandated regulations. Assignments may be at a secondary school site, specialized department, or educational program. Office Specialist III is the third level in a generalist clerical series. Incumbents assigned to the Level III positions often serve in a generalist role performing a range of general clerical, secretarial or office support duties, using information from specialized areas for data analysis.
Required Documents
Typing Certificate - Issued within the last two years, for 45 wpm. Must include the name, address, and phone number of the issuing agency along with the net wpm and length of test (3-minute minimum). Typing certificates from web-based programs are not accepted.
NUSD Human Resources Department offers typing tests (free of charge) at the district office. If interested, please email [email protected] or call 916-567-5470 to schedule an appointment.
Clerical Proficiency Test is required. Applicants will be contacted for testing. First Aid/CPR Certificate required within first six months of employment. A TB and Fingerprint Clearance will also be required prior to employment.

Requirements / Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from high school is required plus additional or college courses in business or a related field is strongly preferred. A minimum of two years of general clerical experience requiring frequent public contact is desired. Experience at the Office Assistant I and II level is preferred. Proficiency in records and data management to comply with District, State and Federal regulations, Excel, Google Docs, Data, experience with parent engagement and public relations. Bilingual desired, but not required.
