The Gate Automation Controls Technician installs, programs, troubleshoots, and maintains automated gate and access control systems. This role supports residential, commercial, and industrial clients by ensuring gates operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The Technician works with low-voltage electrical systems, control logic, and mechanical components while delivering professional, customer-focused service and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.

• Install and service automated gate operators, motors, sensors, and access control components.
• Program and configure control boards, relays, keypads, and networked devices.
• Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance in compliance with UL-325 standards.
• Integrate gate automation with access control, CCTV, and intercom systems.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and site plans.
• Document work performed and provide customer training on system operation.

• Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and basic PLC/relay logic.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, site plans, and technical schematics.
• Mechanical aptitude for gate and operator installation and alignment.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic meters.
• Effective troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Experience & Certifications

• Experience with gate operator systems (DoorKing, LiftMaster, HySecurity, FAAC, etc.).
• Electrical or electronics technician certification.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP controllers, cloud-based access systems).

Pay range for this role is $28-38 per hour, plus bonus and benefits.
