Description
Federated Co-ops, Inc. is looking for a detail oriented and customer focused Construction Estimator to join our team at the Pine City Building Center. The Construction Estimator will lead our sales operations by providing accurate project estimates, assist with customer inquiries, process orders, and support counter and product sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Construction Estimator include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Enter orders and product data into the system efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for building projects for customers.
- Answer customer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing contractors while actively soliciting and establishing connections with new contractors to expand the customer base and support sales growth.
- Work with location staff to complete forms, complete restock and custom order entry and track results.
- Support counter sales by answering phones, assisting walk-in customers, and promoting store products and services.
- Solicit sale of new or additional services.
- Operate cash register, process transactions, and handle payments and change.
- Communicate customer feedback, concerns, and questions to store management promptly.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 3 years of sales-related experience.
- 3-5 years of customer service experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in data entry and order processing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints to prepare estimates.
- 1-3 years construction knowledge (new home construction, home remodels, decks, and additions etc.).
- Knowledge of windows and doors preferred.
- Mathematical abilities to write estimates and complete measurements for customer quotes and bids.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; additional training or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with computers, including data entry, document management, and project tracking software.
- Must be able to work core business hours which include occasional Saturdays and flexibility for extended hours when business dictates.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be at least 18 years old.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.
The wage range for this position is $51,000 - $94,000. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications. Federated Co-ops, Inc. also offers a performance bonus and industry leading benefits which includes a 401(k) with company match of 7%.
