Sutphen's Frame Value Stream is seeking an operations group leader to join our growing team in Urbana, Ohio.

An operations group leader manages a team of associates, ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and safe while ensuring quality is not sacrificed. In this role, you have an advanced ability to coordinate employees, plan work schedules, audit processes, and achieve great results in the most efficient & effective way possible.

Essential Functions


Group Leader Functions

  • Coach and support team members to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Audit processes, evaluate performance, and assist in resolving daily challenges at the lowest level possible
  • Track completion and due dates, complete and/or provide input, and present employee performance reviews, disciplinary reports, and makes recommendations for merit increases/promotions
  • Active involvement and support in Transformation and Continuous Improvement projects to promote safety, quality, and productivity improvements

Personnel Management

  • Train, develop, and maintain training sheets on all employees and make recommendations for employee advancement
  • Provide employees information by compiling, sorting, and initiating all data, drawings, and material available, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Organize, lead, and direct daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
  • Develop and share target dates and guide the team to achieve the schedule
  • Evaluate team members on a regular basis to ensure production requirements are met
