SCOPE:
Accountant I will perform various duties such as Accounts Receivable cash applications, customer invoice billing and customer payment requests. Must have the ability to meet month end deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Must have a familiarity with entry level accounting procedures, experience with accounting software and Excel. Skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving are essential. This position requires a minimum of an associate degree in Accounting or 2 years of related work experience.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES
- Ability to adapt to various accounting software and other computer applications such as Excel while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to process a large volume of transactions within a specified time period.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to complete within tight deadlines; possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform Accountant I functions and on occasion provide backup and training to other team members.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to work within teams as well as directly with internal/external customers.
- The ability to assist with external and internal audits by providing information timely when requested.
- The ability to perform reconciliations of banking and customer accounts.
- Understanding of Accounts Receivable and Billing Customer Invoices

- Work as a part of the accounting team, ensuring internal and external customer needs are always met.
- Maintain interaction with the Operations team.
- Assist in maintaining updated process/procedure documentation

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of an associate degree and 2 years of related work experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external partners
- Beginning to Intermediate understanding of Excel, particularly in filtering, sorting and reconciling data
- Work well under pressure and meet hard month, quarter, and year end deadlines
- Highly organized with outstanding communication skills
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
- Operates in a professional office environment.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit for long periods of times, talk, and hear.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, with the ability to reach with hands and arms.
- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
