Summary
The Human Resources Intern will provide support to Human Resources, specifically the Teammate Relations Team. The Human Resources Intern will contribute to the business while gaining on the job experience. This position will encompass a more complete understanding of the Human Resources field in a multi-state/multi-location retail company.

Employee Relations
- Triage questions or issues to ensure their timely resolution by the appropriate HR Teammate.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with HR policies and procedures through analytical reporting from the HRIS and provide thorough communication with impacted groups or individuals.
- Provide support to the Teammate Relations Team by assisting in formal investigations.
- Prepare communications for HR presentations, documents, and mailings as needed.
- Assist with preparing and presenting company-wide training and related compliance measures.
- Ensure an accurate and timely payroll process by generating payroll reports and verifying that all timecard edits are completed.
Recruiting
- Regularly post and update job postings and manage permissions within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Assist in communicating with hiring managers and partner with senior recruiters for innovative recruiting plans dependent on hiring needs.
- Assist with campus research, registration of career fairs, cost analysis, and post-evaluation of all campus events and career fairs across the country.
- Coordinate the corporate summer internship schedule and calendar.
- Develop an understanding of company policies and employment laws, communicating concerns to senior recruiters.
- Assist with gathering, analyzing metrics and measuring results of recruiting initiatives.
Hiring
- Update and maintain hiring reports, tracking spreadsheets, and teammate files.
- Provide support and guidance answering questions regarding the applicant tracking system (ATS), job postings, job requisitions, and onboarding.
- Effectively communicate with managers regarding onboarding information and any necessary follow-up.
- Assist with onboarding processes at home office and in store to ensure a smooth process for new hires.
- Process onboarding information ensuring all information is correct.
- Assist with compliance of Hiring Team processes and develop a deep understanding of company policies and employment laws.
Total Rewards
- Collaboratively assist and respond to teammate inquiries regarding all Buckle benefit programs, including health, dental, disability, life insurance, EAP, 401(k), and other plans.
- Guide new hires and those experiencing life events through their benefits options ensuring timely and accurate enrollments.
- Maintain compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and other benefits-related regulations while handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of teammate benefit elections, eligibility, deductions, and enrollment status using HRIS software.
- Assist in the leave of absence (LOA) program, coordinating necessary documentation, arrears, and follow-up.

Education and/or Experience
Candidate must be actively pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Communications, or related field preferably with an emphasis in Human Resources. Previous Human Resources, customer service, or administrative experience is preferred but not required.
