How GoMacro’s history shapes who we are today?

During her 2003 battle with cancer, co-founder Amelia Kirchoff created the first MacroBar® recipe in her kitchen on the Wisconsin family farm. Position Description:

We are seeking a proven, talented, and passionate Innovation Associate Manager (IAM) to join our team. As an IAM, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of GoMacro by leading innovation projects to realize GoMacro’s vision. You will be responsible for leading and launching new product line innovation projects while working directly with the cross-functional innovation team and report to the Senior Director of Innovation. You will also have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to important consumer insights and brand vision and strategy projects. Primary Responsibilities:

Innovation Strategy & Pipeline

  • Lead the development of GoMacro’s new product line vision and pipeline strategy—driving analysis, research, and executive alignment to ensure a balanced and growth-focused innovation roadmap.

Project Leadership

  • Oversee end-to-end innovation projects, from charter to post-launch evaluation, ensuring successful execution, timely delivery, and strong in-market performance.

Consumer Insights & Testing

  • Guide consumer testing and experimentation to refine concepts and deliver meaningful, insight-driven solutions that resonate with our consumers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the project manager and cross-functional innovation team to harness collective expertise, creativity, and passion in bringing new ideas to life.

Budget & Timeline Management

  • Track and manage project budgets and timelines to ensure efficiency and accountability

Brand & Consumer Strategy 

  • Contribute to advancing GoMacro’s brand vision and deepening our understanding of the consumer to inform strategic decision-making.

Requirements

Skills Required:

Innovation Leadership

  • Proven success leading and launching new product innovation initiatives (4+ years).
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, think creatively, and drive new solutions with curiosity, agility, and persistence.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills; able to align and inspire teams across all levels.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking

  • Experience assessing brands, markets, and consumer trends to identify strategic growth opportunities.
  • Collaborative experience with finance and sales teams to build business cases, P&Ls, and volume forecasts.
  • Proficiency managing projects through a stage-gate process and presenting to gain alignment and decisions.

Consumer-Centric Innovation

  • Deep understanding of consumer insights and behaviors with a service mindset toward identifying unmet needs.
  • Skilled in agile, iterative consumer testing and learning to refine product concepts.
  • Ability to conceptualize, prototype, and develop high-potential products into market-ready solutions.

Operational Excellence

  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills with accountability to timelines and deliverables.


Education / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship, marketing, strategy, product design, or related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • Background in food and beverage (preferred); health and wellness industry experience welcomed.
  • Experience working with premium, lifestyle brands and understanding of premium vs. mainstream brand strategies.


Travel Required:

  • Up to 10% of time may be required.
