SUMMARY:

The Program Director for Student Success Analytics and Academic Testing serves as the central resource for data management, reporting, and technology coordination across the Student Success Center’s four units: Advising, Money Management Center, Student Transition & Support, and Student Career Preparedness. The role also provides strategic oversight of the Academic Testing Center, ensuring that operations, staffing, and services effectively support students, campus partners, and community members.

This position consolidates student success data, advances predictive analytics, and maximizes the use of technologies such as EAB Navigate, while also creatively seeking opportunities for automation to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. In parallel, the Program Director develops and manages the infrastructure, protocols, and staffing of the new Academic Testing Center, including general oversight, service promotion, and policy development.

As a member of the Student Success Center leadership team, the Program Director delivers actionable insights to unit leaders and campus administration, improves operational efficiency for staff, and enhances the return on technology investments. By centralizing analytics expertise and leading the implementation of testing operations, this position strengthens ETAMU’s commitment to improving student outcomes, retention, and graduation rates.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the collection, analysis, and reporting of student success data, developing dashboards and predictive analytics to guide leadership decisions and retention strategies.

  • Serves as primary administrator and campus champion for EAB Navigate and related technologies, driving adoption, consistent utilization, and integration with other student success systems.

  • Provides strategic oversight of the Academic Testing Center, including daily operations, staffing, service delivery, and the establishment of policies, protocols, and compliance standards.

  • Collaborates with Institutional Research, IT, and Academic Affairs to ensure data governance, accuracy, and system integration across student success technologies.

  • Oversees implementation and management of student success technologies and processes (e.g., course detail reporting, Acadeum, and automation tools) to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.

  • Ensures compliance with federal/state regulations and university policies regarding data privacy, testing standards, and student records.

  • Leads professional development and training for Student Success Center staff on analytics tools, technology processes, and testing protocols.

  • Represents the Student Success Center on institutional committees, while staying current with best practices and emerging trends in student success analytics, educational technology, and testing operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Three to four years of demonstrated experience with data collection, reporting, and analysis in higher education or related field. Strong knowledge of student information systems and analytics tools. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to explain complex data to varied audiences.

  • Ability to:

    Work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Exhibit strong customer service orientation and high levels of hospitality within daily work.

    Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and administrators.

    Analyze large datasets and produce actionable insights.

    Train and support others in technology and data usage.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

An awareness of federal, state, and East Texas A&M University policies and practices related to student success, as well as:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Five or more years of demonstrated experience with data collection, reporting, and analysis in higher education or related field.

  • Experience administering and/or supporting EAB Navigate or comparable student success and retention-focused platforms.

  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner, Acadeum, and other higher education data systems.

  • Experience in predictive analytics, student retention strategies, or institutional research.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

Graduate Assistants and Student workers, as needed; possibility of full-time testing staff.
