This position is responsible for management of quality for global operations in Beehive, Printing and Distribution. The prime objective of this position is to assure that high-quality products and services conforming to established standards is available for members of the Church worldwide. The position supports MMD by assuring both materials from vendors and the products of throughput processes, in all worldwide operations, meet quality standards. The Quality Manager directs the development and distribution of all customer feedback data, manufacturing quality data, process improvement, flow analysis, and process engineering to drive continuous quality improvement. The position manages the development of all quality standards, all testing methods, and quality auditing of all products throughout each step of production. Interfaces with all division workgroups as well as other Church special committees.

Responsibilities

  • 25% - Manage the team of direct reports, which may include: the Supervisor of Quality Testing and Receiving; the Supervisor of Quality Control;the Quality Assurance Lab Technician; he Senior Business Process Analyst; the Process Engineer; the Senior Quality Clerk; and dotted-line responsibility for all auditor functions in the global satellite plants.
  • 20% -Manage and provide direction so to support process improvement through process engineering, analysis and development, and identifying cost reduction globally
  • 20% - Manage and lead global quality training for manufacturing managers, supervisors, operators, quality supervisors, and quality auditors, to assure worldwide standardization of auditing processes, including on-site visits, products sent for reviews, satellite teleconferences, and electronic communications.
  • 15% - Work cross-functionally with all departments within the worldwide manufacturing plants, transcending competing objectives between quality and production.
  • 10% - Manage development of standard quality specifications, testing methods, policies, and procedures worldwide.
  • 5% - Manage worldwide data collection from audits, providing recommendations to improve quality and drive process improvements at all levels of the global manufacturing operations.
  • 5% - Manage and develop the collection of customer feedback data through customer feedback forms, focus groups and surveys with an emphasis related to improved fit and design. Provide analysis and recommendations from this information to the appropriate levels of manufacturing.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, and 8+ years experience in manufacturing or equivalent combination. Professional certification preferred or ability to certify in 12 months of hire. Demonstrated experience in creating, implementing, and leading a highly successful quality organization, with proven ability to work cross-functionally and successfully interface with all departments to coordinate the objectives of quality and production. Must be able to envision the quality process from the perspective of all who are affected and must have a broad understanding of all phases of production processes. Must have strong communication skills. Must have training skills to provide quality instruction for all manufacturing and quality personnel which includes management and production operators. Able to work extensively with statistical sampling, data analysis to establish trends and pinpoint areas for process improvement. Excellent computer skills required (ie. database, word processing, spreadsheet software, etc). Seasoned employee relations skills required.
