Position:       Basketball Official (Seasonal)

Supervisor:  Sports Director      

FLSA Code:    Non-Exempt

GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Sports Director, Basketball Officials are responsible for enforcing the rules impartially and controlling the contest so that the players are afforded a positive game experience.  The official should display self-confidence and a proficient attitude while officiating.  Must dress in professional attire as appropriate.

KNOW-HOW

Must be able to officiate with the expertise and knowledge of the sport of basketball.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

• Employee should officiate the games of the Basketball Program in the assigned facility.
• Must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of competition to ensure integrity of the game schedules.
• Set a positive tone for competition and report any significant incidents to the Sports Director regarding parents, participants or facility which may affect the enjoyable competitive atmosphere.

• Perform other duties as designated by supervisor.
