About the Role

As a Rafter End Welder at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient production operations by setting up, calibrating, and operating high-speed, robotic-enabled equipment to form or cut steel to precise specifications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys hands-on mechanical work, and is dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Shift: 3rd Shift 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Pay: $20-$23 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus

What You’ll Do

• Operates and calibrates high-speed equipment with robotic elements to meet production specifications and quality standards.
• Inspects materials before, during, and after production to identify and address quality issues.
• Maintains equipment, tooling, and tools to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Diagnoses and resolves equipment and quality problems to reduce scrap and production delays.
• Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Completes required reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.
• Assists Maintenance teams in performing equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
• Participates in continuous improvement programs to enhance production performance and workplace safety.
• Leads and promotes safe work practices in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.

Who You Are
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and maintain accurate production records and logs.
• Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions.
• Experienced with measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Capable of operating forklifts, cranes, and related equipment as required.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work independently and maintain consistent on-site attendance per the posted schedule.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Requires constant movement, manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• Able to remain in a stationary position for several hours.
• Capable of lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Able to stand for 10–12 hours per shift.
• Must be able to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
