Description Summary

As part of the Office of Career Management, the Lead Career Strategy Specialist serves as primary lead for managing career and job search initiatives for the MAcc, MHRM, and SMF degree programs. This includes leading all programmatic initiatives, serving as a career coach for the internship and job search, supporting employer/alumni relations, and managing employment outcomes and data collection and reporting processes. Additionally, responsible for all career and program related collaborations with academic program directors, faculty members, staff/colleagues and college leadership/administration for the MAcc, MHRM, and SMF programs. Leads and manages the MAcc, MHRM, and SMF career coaching team to include senior career advisor and graduate assistants.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Higher Education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 6 years’ experience in career advising, student development, or a related area; Outstanding communication skills with individuals and large groups; Ability to manage multiple projects and duties simultaneously; Excellent organizational skills; Strong ability to connect with people and build relationships; Knowledge of online education platforms; Proficiency with technology tools including Canvas (or similar), Handshake (or similar), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams; Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; Familiarity with career development theory; Understanding of the graduate career management industry

 

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree and 5–8 years of experience in a higher education setting, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience; Experience in corporate learning and development, talent acquisition, or human resources; Experience working with graduate students; Experience working with employers seeking MAcc, MHRM, and SMF talent

Additional Information:

The target hiring range for this job profile is $68,000 – 84,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
