CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechatronics Engineer.

Job Title: Mechatronics Engineer
Location: Painted Post, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Painted Post, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
Description:
The Mechatronics Engineer will support the design, installation, start-up, and troubleshooting of manufacturing or research equipment. Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation and mechatronic systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, and control solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement mechatronic systems to improve automation and processes
Coordinate tasks to meet project schedules and milestones
Install, test, and troubleshoot equipment
Integrate PLC/PC-based automation and controls
Verify equipment against drawings and update documentation
Prepare technical reports and present project updates to stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles
Proficient with design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
Experience with control systems software (Rockwell, Omron, Beckhoff)
Knowledge of electrical schematics, panel layouts, and safe troubleshooting
Analytical problem-solving skills, multitasking, and basic project management
Desired Skills:
Mechanical equipment design, installation, and debugging experience
Hands-on wiring and cabinet-building experience
Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 programming standards
Programming experience: C, C++, Python, MATLAB
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders
Collaborative and able to work with multidisciplinary teams
Experience managing vendors and suppliers
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel (1-week trips or shorter) as needed
On-site presence during the workweek
