Role Overview:
We're seeking a sophisticated sales professional to serve as a design partner to architects, interior designers, and high-end custom builders. This role primarily focuses on highly customizable options such as Marvin's Signature window and door collections, delivering highly customized fenestration solutions for discerning clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects and designers from concept through construction on custom fenestration packages
- Specify Marvin Signature collections with technical expertise (U-factors, SHGC, acoustics, wind ratings)
- Proactively build relationships with architects, designers, and luxury builders in untapped markets
- Assist in hosting and coordinating lunch-and-learns, CEU presentations, and showroom events for design professionals
- Create detailed proposals that could include design renderings, specifications, and investment analysis
- Conduct design presentations demonstrating aesthetic and performance value
- Manage complex projects ($50k-$250k+) from consultation through installation
- Visit job sites during critical phases to ensure design intent is achieved
- Coordinate with internal team (Account Coordinator, Estimator) on custom orders and timelines
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of Marvin Signature products and competitive landscape
- Provide ongoing product education to internal team on premium capabilities
Requirements
Required:
- 2+ years in luxury product sales (windows, architectural products, high-end interiors, or similar)
- Proven track record selling to architects, designers, or custom builders
- Experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles ($50k-$250k+ projects)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated success in developing new market segments or territories
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills for sophisticated audiences
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and genuine appreciation for design excellence
- Consultant mentality—patient, relationship-focused, not transactional (sales cycles 6-18 months)
- Self-directed and entrepreneurial—building this market from scratch
- Comfortable with evening events and occasional weekend showroom appointments
- Driver's license with clean driving record
Preferred:
- Existing relationships within local architectural/design community
- Previous experience with Marvin products or other premium window brands
- LEED AP, AIA Associate, or other industry credentials
- Background in architecture, interior design, or construction management
