Description

Blake & Pendleton is seeking an experienced Service Technician to support the maintenance and repair of industrial compressed air systems — primarily Sullair equipment — for customers in industries such as manufacturing, utilities, forestry, and mining. This is a field-based role requiring strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, the ability to troubleshoot various equipment types, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and safety. Service Technicians follow a regular work schedule but may also be required to work on-call and adjust hours based on customer needs. The role is physically demanding and may involve lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, and operating in various weather conditions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair compressed air systems and components
  • Perform start-up on newly installed machines
  • Communicate daily with the Service Coordinator
  • Submit completed timesheets and service tickets accurately and on time
  • Maintain a clean, organized service truck and professional appearance
  • Adhere to safety standards and maintain required certifications
  • Provide on-call service support based on a rotating schedule
Requirements


Electrical Knowledge:

  • Skilled in troubleshooting 120V control circuits.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair single phase and 3Phase motor control circuits up to 480V, such as full voltage, reduced voltage and soft starters as well as 3 phase and single phase motor troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to properly use multimeters, amp meters and infrared meters.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the above while meeting the Company and
  • Customer’s safety requirements.

Mechanical Knowledge:

  • Read and comprehend P&I drawings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various air compressor control components.
  • Must be able to perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning and setting controls.
  • Must be able to set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors and associated components.
  • Must be able to perform motor alignments.
  • Must be able to safely use all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
  • Must have understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles and components.
  • Knowledge of different types of piping such as types of copper, black and galvanized.
  • Knowledge of threading, sweating, brazing and welding a plus.
  • Must be able to bend and install control tubing such as 1/4" and 5/16" Stainless Steel tubing.

Preferred:

  • EPA certification with Freon handling experience
  • OSHA/MSHA certifications or willingness to obtain
