About the Department

The Educational Services Division is currently accepting applications for Physical Therapist.
Under limited supervision of a school administrator or designee, provides pediatric physical therapy assessment and treatment to students with special needs enrolled in the educational programs of the Santa Clara County Office of Education; determines levels of function relative to the student’s age and educational placement in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care and activities of daily living; consults with many different educational team members within a framework of special education policies and procedures; exercises independent clinical judgment and well-developed communication skills.
This position is full-time, and has a work year of 12 months, 217 days, 4 hours/day.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Two years of clinical experience in pediatric therapy in an educational setting with emphasis on developmental disabilities. Experience in working collaboratively with teams and families are desired.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid license from or eligibility for licensing with the Physical Therapy Board of California to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of California in accordance with the Physical Therapy Act.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license with a driving record that meets the insurance requirements of the County Office of Education.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
- Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
- Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
- The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for TBD.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for TBD.
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for TBD.
- Second interviews may be held in-person.
- Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps, using the email supplied within their SchoolJobs.com applications, or as updated by candidates in their SchoolJobs.com master profiles. Therefore, it is recommended that candidates check their email at least daily.
