As an accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Reinsurance Accounting team, you'll execute and account for low to medium-complexity reinsurance contracts. You'll prepare journal entries and account reconciliations and perform company close analysis. In this role, you'll monitor contract, accounting, and financial reporting changes, while maintaining compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements. In addition, you'll collaborate with a various departments and business units, providing expertise to internal and external customers alike. You'll use professional accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply company policies and procedures to complete accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
 
In addition to the minimum requirements for the role, the candidate must meet requirements to work in the General Ledger. Those General Ledger requirements include the completion of Principles of Accounting I and II -or- Financial Accounting I and II.
 
Remote work allowed with occasional travel required if based outside the Cleveland, OH area.

Must-have qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g., Finance) and a minimum of 2 years of accounting work experience.
Preferred skills
Knowledge of Reinsurance and or Statutory accounting
Experience with quota share and XOL Reinsurance Programs
Exposure to schedule F/ other regulatory reporting
Working knowledge of Excel and SQL
Experience with Workday, Prima XL or other reinsurance system, SAP BusinessObjects
A strong desire to enhance processes, drive efficiencies, and foster innovation within our organization
 Compensation
$59,600 - $79,500/year depending on position level  
Gainshare bonus up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance and position level
