Landing Gear Technologies (LGT) is an FAA-Certified Repair Station specializing in the repair and overhaul of aircraft landing gears and components. Maintenance Technicians report to the Maintenance Manager for their assigned department and are responsible for assuring all assigned tasks are executed correctly and in accordance with FAR, current manufacturers’ instructions, and this manual as applicable. Maintenance Technicians are also responsible for ascertaining the shop equipment and tooling used during the assigned tasks are in serviceable working condition and the workstations are maintained in a clean and orderly manner. They are to ensure the technical data is correct and current pertaining to the task being performed and that required work records are properly executed. They may not delegate their duties and responsibilities to any other person.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Must follow a preventive safety protocol as established by the company.

· Demonstrate safety awareness throughout workday.

· Perform all preventive maintenance tasks.

· Required to troubleshoot, install minor equipment, analyze and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults, including hydraulic and pneumatically operated equipment with little assistance or supervision.

· Submit parts requests by looking up parts in manufacturer’s parts book, from parts room shelf or online.

· Mentor other mechanics to help them perform their roles better and establish a team atmosphere.

· Perform welding, plumbing and project work.

· Proactively work with the team to ensure efficient operation of the equipment.

· Help others at all levels to complete any maintenance tasks.

· Build detailed knowledge of plant equipment operation.

· Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

· Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

· Perform additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in      English. 

· Good written and oral communications skills.

· Ability to perform job functions with little or no supervision.

· Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.

· Use of power tools, scissor/man-lifts, hand trucks and forklifts.

· Use of diagnostic equipment to properly troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and make appropriate repairs.

· Able to troubleshoot, analyze and repair including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatically operated equipment with minimal assistance or supervision.

· A minimum of three years’ experience working as a Building Maintenance Mechanic.

· Able to lift, support and move 40 pounds.

· Able to operate all machinery and equipment for diagnostic purposes.

· Able to read and interpret equipment and site blueprints to promote rapid failure.

Physical Requirements:

· Required to be able to move in the facility, including climbing up to 8 hours a day with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, respirator and hearing protection) with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Ability to lift/carry up to 80 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Frequent use of hand and power tools weighing up to 15lbs.

· Handle, use, and dispose of hazard material.

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
