About the Department

GET PAID WHILE OBTAINING YOUR EMT CERTIFICATION!
Get started on an exciting career by joining the Lancaster County EMS Boot Camp. You will receive training to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and gain valuable experience in the field while getting paid!  The course is approximately 12 weeks in length, and uses a combination of classroom, self-study, skills labs and direct observation on an ambulance.

• Have a desire to serve others and the community
• Prefer to be out in the field 
• At least 18 years of age
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED
• Clean background and driving record
• Ability to pass a drug screen
• Must pass placement test

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are crucial healthcare professionals who provide immediate care to patients during emergency situations. EMTs often work in high-pressure and unpredictable environments.

Position Duties

• Assessing patient conditions and providing immediate care
• Transporting patients to the hospital while monitoring their condition and providing necessary care
• Documenting information and care provided
• Maintaining and restocking medical equipment, supplies, cleaning and sanitizing
