The Role:
The Admissions Coordinator is a qualified, motivated, and supportive individual who will assist day and week visitor prospective students by facilitating arrival, tours, and departure. The Admissions Coordinator will also assist with gathering staff feedback about the visitor and synthesizing the information into written narratives to be included in the week visit report.
This position requires a highly organized, patient, and personable individual who can effectively coordinate all aspects of the visitor experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet week visitors and facilitate settling into the apartment and completion of life skills assessments (grocery list and shopping, budgeting, room setup). Document assessment data on provided reporting forms.
- Complete laundry cycle (and related assessment) and assist visitor with packing up for departure.
- Maintain checklist of completed and missing staff feedback. Summarize and synthesize all assessment data and feedback into a written week visit report.
- Provide campus tours for visiting students and families.
- Check email regularly to communicate with the SVP of Admissions & Communications, Admissions Associate, and all relevant staff.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.
Minimum Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental and social disabilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Ability to obtain CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.
- Strong problem-solving skills, patience, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods of time.
