The Regional Supply Chain Director – Automotive North America is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution across NSG Pilkington’s Automotive business in North America, covering both Aftermarket (AGR) and Original Equipment (OE) operations in Canada, US and Mexico.

 

This position ensures a fully integrated orchestration of demand, supply, logistics, and capacity planning, optimizing cost, service, and inventory across the region. The role is pivotal in driving alignment between manufacturing, commercial, and regional operations to support customer requirements, profitability, and long-term business growth.

Primary Duties:

 Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the regional supply chain strategy aligned with global NSG Automotive objectives and medium-term plans.
  • Lead cross-functional planning processes integrating sales, operations, inventory and finance (S&OP).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on cost efficiency, agility, and service excellence.

 Demand & Supply Planning

  • Oversee the regional demand planning function, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective communication with commercial teams in AGR and OE.
  • Direct supply planning across AGR and OE to ensure balanced production loading, inventory optimization, and high service levels.
  • Work with AGR teams to load internal assets according to commercial and financial strategy.
  • Work with OE Program management and manufacturing teams in order to balance plants based on demonstrated performance and expected improvements.
  • Lead long-term capacity planning to support future OE program launches and aftermarket growth (AGR and OES).
  • Ensure each site leverages the ERP system (SAP) to its full capability, using it to generate reliable production, supply, and materials (raw glass, components, etc…) requirement plans that are aligned with reviewed and approved demand inputs from AGR, OES, and OE.

 Logistics & Warehousing

  • Manage logistics networks and distribution strategies to achieve cost-efficient, reliable delivery across AGR DCs (Phoenix, AZ and Columbus, OH).
  • Oversee warehousing operations and ensure effective utilization of space, systems, and labor.
  • Optimize freight, packaging, and storage strategies to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Operational Excellence

  • Champion process standardization and data-driven decision-making through best-in-class systems and KPIs.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing and procurement teams to improve material availability, throughput, and lead times.
  • Ensure business continuity through proactive risk management and contingency planning.

 People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of supply chain professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Align organizational capability with current and future business needs.

 Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Solid knowledge of demand and supply planning, logistics, warehousing and S&OP processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Strong understanding of both Aftermarket (AGR) and Original Equipment (OE) supply chain dynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site, multi-cultural, cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of driving performance improvement through process optimization and cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • Experience in both North American and global supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Background in capacity planning for complex OE program launches.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing supply chain budgets.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives within supply chain functions (e.g., advanced planning tools, analytics, or automation).
  • Professional certification such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP.
