POSITION SUMMARY:  The position is responsible for greeting and assisting guests, managing incoming calls, providing basic information about casino amenities and services, directing visitors to appropriate areas, handling guest inquiries, maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring smooth guest flow while adhering to casino policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Professionally greet all guests, providing a positive and friendly first impression. 
  • Manage the calendar for appointments, meetings, and events.
  • Prepares memos, letters, labels, and other correspondences as assigned.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize spreadsheets for basic accounting functions as needed.
  • Handle clerical duties such as filing, copying, and scanning documents.
  • Maintain an organized front desk area to ensure a professional environment and is well-stocked with necessary materials. 
  • Promptly answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette and direct them appropriately or taking messages when needed.
  • Listen to and attempt to resolve minor guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner, escalating issues when necessary. 
  • Collect deposits, payments or fees.
  • Manages the postage and shipping & receiving.
  • Completes special assignments by stuffing and labeling envelopes; sorting, collating, and stapling material for internal and external distribution. 
  • Shall scan, capture, retrieve, and store documents digitally in a central location (i.e., DocStar/EPICOR).
  • Shall create and seek approval for purchase orders (PO). Shall keep files on all purchase orders.
  • Provide basic information to guests about casino amenities, including restaurants, bars, gaming areas, promotions, and hours of operation. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have demonstrated experience successfully working in a confidential work setting.
  • Strong calendar management skills to coordinate appointments effectively.
  • Proficient in data entry with attention to detail.
  • Excellent clerical skills including filing and document management.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette for effective communication with clients and guests.
  • Effective communicator with good judgment with the ability to change tasks at a moment’s notice.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have High School diploma or GED
  • Must have one (1) year of related customer service experience working in a highly confidential work setting.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance preferred.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
