What you will do?

As the Grant Writer you will be responsible for producing technical and foundational grant writing products. This position will manage grant timelines and deliverable's as well as conducting evaluation/research activities to support organizational strategies and operations. Specific duties include:

Grant and Service Development Research

  • Continuously conduct search for grant options to fund identified developmental areas which fit with organizational mission.
  • Evidence clear and logical comprehension of identified areas for funding and their requirements/service impacts.

Technical Proposal Development

  • Review application materials to identify key proposal components.
  • Determine technical specifications and feasibility of proposal by conferring with administrators, subject matter experts, program staff, clients, and funders.
  • Gather thorough and relevant information to evaluate scope and effectiveness of proposal.
  • Prepare proposal and application materials to comply with required format.
  • Edit, standardize, and amend materials to ensure all components are consistent and aligned.
  • Review and organize published materials to ensure all proposal/application requirements are met.
  • Prepare professional technical documents appropriate for the targeted audience.
  • Use computer systems/software to design effective proposals, tracking systems and evaluation tools.

Grants Management

  • Coordinate staff, fiscal, technical, and physical resources to optimize project utilization and output.
  • Execute an ongoing work plan to support the development of high-quality grant-related submissions (e.g. narrative and financial reports, outcomes data, success stories)
  • Maintain Grant Calendar, grants folders and documents.
  • Work with the Senior Grant Writer to schedule Grant Evaluation Team Meetings and Grant Outcomes Meetings, prepare agendas, distribute documents to team members, and conduct follow-up communications.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions and materials required to produce each product.
  • Accurately communicate project changes/revisions in a timely manner.
  • Effectively manage and integrate the work time required to carry out all aspects of multiple simultaneous projects/proposals.

Requirements


What you need:

A Bachelors Degree in related field plus 5 years of experience OR equivalent education & related work experience is required.  Additional requirements include:

  • Effective technical writing, research, and reading skills.
  • Strong ability to be self-directed, with demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and/or related grants management software.
