Major/Essential Functions
- Handle Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) requests which involves managing and coordinating responses to public information requests, ensuring compliance with the TPIA and other relevant laws, and overseeing the process of gathering, reviewing, and disclosing public records. Assess requests to determine which requires an Attorney General opinion.
- Promptly provide high level administrative support to all attorneys within the TTU System OGC.
- Research, review, compile, and handle OGC, university, and external information including preparing reports, filing documents with external agencies and within the OGC document management system, as well as researching and analyzing statutes, legal opinions, legal articles, policies, and case files.
- Regularly attend staff meetings and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration with the attorneys and staff within the TTU System OGC as well as clients within the TTU System and component institutions.
- Engage in actions and communications that are consistent with the Texas Tech University System and component institution Values Culture.
- The Office of General Counsel has implemented remote work accommodations where staff members may work from home one day a week.
