About the Role:
The Driver at Larkin Behavioral Health Services (LBHS) plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of healthcare services by ensuring safe, timely, and efficient transportation of clients, staff, and essential materials. This position is vital in maintaining the operational flow within the health care environment, facilitating access to care and resources. The driver will be responsible for navigating routes with professionalism and care, often interacting with vulnerable populations in a respectful and compassionate manner. By maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, the driver contributes to a secure and comfortable experience for all passengers. Ultimately, this role supports LBHS’s mission to provide comprehensive behavioral health services by enabling reliable transportation solutions that meet organizational standards and client needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record as required by state regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a healthcare or client transportation setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully and compassionately with clients and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience driving in a healthcare or behavioral health services environment.
- Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns in the LBHS service area.
- Ability to operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Additional endorsements or licenses relevant to passenger transport.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate LBHS vehicles to transport clients, staff, and supplies to and from designated locations according to scheduled routes and appointments.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist clients with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing support as needed to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and transportation logs in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and LBHS policies to promote a secure transportation environment.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff and clients to coordinate transportation schedules and address any concerns or changes.
- Ensure cleanliness and routine maintenance of vehicles to uphold health and safety standards.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 6 A.M to 6 P.M
Weekends 8 hour shift (rotation of days)
